Psychosynthesis
What is Psychosynthesis?
Psychosynthesis focuses on personal growth and development and is also known as a psychology of hope and psychology of the soul.
Its Goal: To help people realise themselves, grow, and actualise their potential
Its Focus: On a person's potential for the future and higher aspirations like compassion, altruism, intuition, and creativity
Its Approach: Combines spiritual development with psychological healing, which was influenced by Sigmund Freud's theory of the unconscious
Its Belief: That all living things contain within them a drive to evolve, and that this process can be supported consciously
What is Psychosynthesis Coaching?
Psychosynthesis coaching is an enabling relationship ultimately goal oriented, but one that also allows for a deeper understanding of who you are. This understanding can include your history, your experiences and the many parts of your personality. Psychosynthesis coaching will endeavour to provide you with a deeper knowledge of these aspects of self – helping to cohere – which can offer a sense of renewed direction, clarity and depth. It can be very effective for those that feel stuck or blocked from moving forwards in their careers or personal lives - and for trying to find the right balance between the two.
Whilst Freud was very interested in the subconscious - the so called ‘basement of the human being’ – Assagioli, the founder of psychosynthesis, found Freud’s theories to be limiting, believing that psychosynthesis incorporates and offers an elevator which will allow a person access to every level of his personality and his potential.
After all, a building with only a basement is very limited. We want to open up the terrace where you can sun-bathe or look at the stars.
The psychosynthesis coaching focus is connection, purpose, meaning and values.
